Charles S. Sadler CGMP, CHSP, CHSC
Executive Director and CEO, Society of Government Meeting Professionals

Charles has been SGMP’s Executive Director since September 2008 after serving as the Deputy Director for 3 ½ years. Prior to coming to SGMP he spent 24 years in the hospitality industry as a Director of Sales & Marketing with Hyatt, IHG and Starwood Hotels.

Charles has deep roots with SGMP being a former national board member and an active chapter leader. He joined SGMP in 1987.

He has held several different positions on the SGMP National Board while a member:
-Past National SGMP Treasurer
-Past 2nd National Vice President
-Past Supplier Director National Board

As a member of SGMP Charles has been with the Old Dominion Chapter since 1987 and served as the chapters Supplier Director and 2nd Vice President. As chair of the Old Dominion Program & Education Committee, Charles had created 4 education programs that had received an unprecedented Program of the Year Award, Four (4) years in a row at SGMP's Annual Education Conference for his chapter.

A native of Norfolk, Virginia, Charles resides in Richmond, Virginia, since graduating from the College of William & Mary in 1980 with a BA in history where he was provided a full four year basketball athletic scholarship.
