Diane Godwin Principal Meeting Planner - North Carolina League of Municipalities NC SGMP Chapter President (2009 - 2011)
Diane Godwin (NC League of Municipalities). Diane started her career in the insurance field in 1976 and in 1999 she saw the light and became a Meeting Planner with the North Carolina League of Municipalities. Diane understudied under Janet Lessard, who had 36 years of experience. After nine years of understudy Janet retired and left the reins to Diane. At this time Diane became the Principal Meeting Planner for the League. Diane and Athena Banks plans between 125 and 150 meetings a year and one large conference with a trade show that brings in 1600 to 2000 Municipal Officials a years. Diane has been involved with SGMP, AENC and MPI for years. She has served on committees for all three and has been on the Board of SGMP for a couple of years and now is serving as your President.
Diane is married to Don and they live in Spring Hope. They have two children JR and Ashley, both who are grown. Ashley is married to another JR.
Diane’s has one passion and that is crafts and flower arranging. She also loves to sit outside her home next to her pond and read a good book.
