Speaker Biography Susanna Bourgeois
Raleigh Regional Center Manager, N.C. Division of Services for the Deaf and The Hard of Hearing Susanna Bourgeois has been employed with the Division of Services for the Deaf and The Hard of Hearing since 1995. She was a Deaf Services Specialist with the Raleigh Regional Center for 12 years. She is a Tennessee native and is a fourth generation deaf person. She has a BA degree in Social Work. She received an honor for the Governor’s Award for Excellence as one of five nominees in NC. While juggling many balls in the past, she served many offices with non profit organizations and has done volunteer work for the community. She formally worked as a RSC (CDI) and was certified by RID. She was actively involved with the interpreting community in Tennessee. She served on the Board of the National Association of the Deaf as a Region 3 Representative. She served as a Secretary-Treasurer and Region 2 Representative for Telecommunication for the Deaf, Inc. She is involved with various organizations at the local, state and national levels. Susanna’s hobbies are traveling, gardening, crafts and reading. |
